Collection and Use of Personal Information
Any User-generated Content which includes Personal Information which you submit to the Site may be seen by the public. Third parties may be able to access your Personal Information and contact you using the Site.
The Personal Information you submit is secure once it reaches RPRA’s server. In transit between your computer and RPRA’s server however it may not be secure. If you would prefer to raise a comment or question in person, please contact RPRA at http://www.rpra.ca/contact/.
For each visitor to the Site, RPRA’s web servers automatically recognize information regarding the visitor’s domain name (or that of the visitor’s access provider). Except as required by law, RPRA will not sell, rent, transfer, or share your Personal Information with any third parties. RPRA will collect only such Personal Information as may be required to fulfill the Purpose and will retain the information only for so long as needed to fulfill the Purposes set out above.
RPRA uses technology to track the patterns of behaviour of visitors to our Site. This can include using a "cookie" which would be stored on your browser. "Cookies" are not used to identify individuals or to retrieve information from a visitor's computer other than certain non-Personal Information including:
- the date and time the visitor accesses the Site;
- the pages visited;
- the browser type and operating system being used; and
- referring pages, path through site, domain of the Internet Service Provider (ISP), etc.

RPRA keeps all the information collected from cookies in a non-personally identifiable format. This information is not used to identify individuals, however is solely used in a collective format to perform analysis of the characteristics and behaviours of users. Once your user session is cancelled, the information contained in the cookie is no longer available to RPRA.
RPRA will keep your Personal Information as accurate, complete and up-to-date as necessary for the identified Purposes for which it was collected. We encourage you to let us know if your Personal Information changes.
We protect Personal Information in our possession and control by using industry standard security safeguards including:
- encryption and passwords
- employee confidentiality agreements and security clearances
- locked cabinets and restricted office access.
Our servers are protected by a firewall and are only accessible by authorized users using a password.
RPRA does not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under the age of 13. Children and young people under 13 must obtain permission from their parent or guardian before they submit personal data to the RPRA web site.
Subject to exceptions as permitted by law and subject to your written request, RPRA will inform you of the existence, use and disclosure of your Personal Information and give you access to that information. You have the right to challenge the accuracy and completeness of your Personal Information and have it amended as appropriate.
