April 3, 2017 - Automotive Materials Stewardship’s ISP Effective Date 

On April 1, 2017, the management of Oil Containers, Oil Filters, and Antifreeze transitioned from the MHSW Program (“Orange Drop”) operated by Stewardship Ontario to the Industry Stewardship Plan (ISP) for Automotive Materials operated by Automotive Materials Stewardship (AMS).

Automotive Materials Stewardship’s ISP Effective Date is April 1, 2017

The Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority (the Authority) has determined that April 1, 2017 will be the effective date of Automotive Materials Stewardship’s (AMS) Industry Stewardship Plan (ISP) for the following automotive materials: Oil Containers, Oil Filters, and Antifreeze.

On April 1, 2017, the management of AMS materials will transition from the current MHSW Program ("Orange Drop") operated by Stewardship Ontario to the new program operated by AMS.

On August 10, 2016, the WDO Board approved the Automotive Materials Stewardship (AMS) ISP to manage automotive materials (antifreeze/antifreeze containers, oil filters, and oil containers). The implementation date should be no sooner than January 2017 to provide sufficient time for all transition issues to be addressed.  The Industry Stewardship Plan can be found here.

Product Care Association is the Industry Stewardship Organization that operates the WDO Board-approved Industry Stewardship Plans for paint, and pesticides, solvents and fertilizers ("ReGeneration" Programs).  The Industry Stewardship Plans can be found here.

SodaStream Canada is the Industry Stewardship Organization that operates the WDO Board-approved Industry Stewardship Plan for their proprietary carbon dioxide (CO2) cylinders.  The Industry Stewardship Plan can be found here.
